What's the diff between people posting threads on subjects and people posting polls on subjects?
I really don't see the diff.
There are countless threads of no particular meaning and no one ever complains about them yet since we now have the ability to have poll's much easier, people start to complain?
Weird if you ask me

Because polls have extra words and take up more space. Plus they detract from the point of the post in the first place.

Same thing as posting a meaningless topic. And those certainly can't be shut off

There's a poll on people's opinions of polls... Close enough?
Seriously though, there's only been 4 in the last week. Not THAT bad IMO.

my stupid poll thread about the robots, i thought it was funny to include the poll, but i do wish that "POLL" wasn't in the title of it.
i vote for "POLL" to NOT be included in the title of POLL threads. it's not always the main point of the thread, often the thread is just to encourage coversation, and it's just a secondary thought to include the poll as well.

Can you disable them in specific forums? I think that polls are warranted in Ethics & Commentary.

nice goin. we have a nice feature for a little bit and of course it's abused.
i can see us having no avatars, no smileys, no BBcode, no nothing due to abuse.
here's the difference between a poll and a subject. polls only parrot what's said and gives people more of an excuse to skim.

Amazing, threatning to take the polls away cause we are making to many. Geez, why not ban the people who make totally pointless topics?
Lighten up, smoke a joint for crying out loud.

Folks, just because the feature is there doesn't mean you HAVE to use it. Posting polls just for shits 'n giggles won't fly. END OF STORY.
