while it does look more like a pyro than an x-wing in the drawing, the presence of the droid on the back definatly indicates its of starwars in nature. also, the ends of the wing-tips are derived from x-wings as well.

Right, but they don't fold down like that. They are horizontal, and the four engines are fix-mounted on the top and bottom of the wings. This one clearly has two, and they're fixed in the rear portion of the hull.....just like a pyro. The only thing its missing is the tail fins...and the quads.
