Couldn't get a good export of a pyro so I ...

Post by KoolBear »

made my own. I used Krentz's pyro as my baseline.

I modeled it as one unit. Then I thought... hey I have a minute why not start working on an explodeable pyro :)

This is not related to the \"Pyro on your desk\" thread :D

And here's how my explodable is progressing.
Now be gentle I am no artist.

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

I split the potential model fabrication into a different thread.

Nothing really Bubba just got bored the other day. Thought I would create an assembly of a pyro. I might continue adding everything or just stop there. I wanted to make a 3d frame and skin it but not sure I'll ever have time.

I was able to work with the Hi-Rez Pyro-GX file I'll use it to make the models if I can get Eagle to approve using it.

Bubba,

Sounds great, please export it to STL highest resolution you can. If you can size it to 7-8 inches great if not I'll get the SLA house to do it. Assuming I can pull it off I'll set you up with a casted pyro. Email it to koolbear*no-spam*@gmail.com

Would you mind posting this in the other thread? ...
viewtopic.php?t=12239 that way other people can follow our conversation. After that I will remove these posts from this thread :)

I'll continue my efforts on my personal model.

Any rich people out there want an SLA model instead of a casted one? :P

PM sent KB.

I love Bubba's pyro!
Looks really good, but I also like Eagel's model as well.
I guess because it has the missiles attached to the fins. :)

Alrighty then, remember this isn't part of the Pyro on your Desk discussion.

This is a bored Descent'r that is modeling a Pyro that is made of parts. As time progresses more detail to be worked out.

Looks good, why is the person so big though?

Also what program did you use, and where did you get the Recaro seat?

The person is 6' tall so I guess my pyro is too small :P I wan't sure what the actual dimensions of the pyro were. I was actually suprised that I was as close as I am ;)

Solidworks 2007 an engineering design tool (not a graphical tool) I am also a Pro-Engineer dood :)
The seat I downloaded from the Solidworks user shared files.

Yeah, there are the full size.

Imageshack links are fudged, so I did a direct link from my webspace.

Looking pretty good. Front looks too smooth though. BTW, I wouldn't worry about the size of the guy inside. Maybe a little smaller. No one really seems to know how big the ship is. I like them to appear to be a little smaller. :) It's not the Millennium Falcon. It should be compact. Just the nose looks disproportionate and too round.

Orb looks good. what are you modeling these with? I actually need a better orb for in-game. :) But I've had trouble trying to get the UV's to match up correctly on sphere models. Could you show me the UV layout for the sphere?

V,
Thanks, I am using Solidworks to model and then it's internal rendering engine. Actually I haven't rendered anything these are straight shots from the shaded mode.

The shield orb is a ball with a texture, surrounded by a thin wall hollow ball with a texture applied to a trnsparent surface. I am clue with the UV whatchamacallit thingymabob ;)

I figure it's a fighter so smaller. I might scale him down a wee bit but he fits my seat ;)

A start to the dashboard...

A skinned mega...
