Windows Pic and Fax viewer

Post by thewolfe »

A friend sent me a pic that I opened in Windows Pic and Fax viewer.

After viewing pic I clicked on the \"Next Image\" icon a few times and got numerous additional graphics which looked like graphics from web sits.

I did a search on my computer and I don't have the names of any of those images on my computer.

What's that all about?

Did a search on some of the file/pic names and came up with nothing.

Can you ck your Windows Pic and Fax viewer and see if you have other images than the one you viewed.

Did you search hidden and system folders? Normally search would ignore the browser cache folders...

Yep I did.

Not sure I want to send someone a pic and then have them see some of my stuff, if it is my stuff.

I've had one other person try and send themselves a pic via their e-mail and they could also scroll thru other pics.

When you open attachments in emails and zip files etc, in Windows Pic/Fax viewer, Windows sticks them in the C:\\Documents and Settings\\\"Username\"\\Local Settings\\Temp folder. Most likely you are seeing the other pics that have accumulated in this folder.

The same will be true of the person on the recieving end. They are seeing their temp file pics, not yours.
