question is there an app that will let me scan a HDD and tell me what sectors are bad?

kinda like old dfrag did

I usually use:

Code: Select all

chkdsk Z: /F /V /R /X
Replace Z: with the letter of the volume to check. You can use it on most writable media.

Well where looking for more of a 3rd party app that will show us.

Where going to upgradeing stores and wanna check the drives

a fancy graphic isn't going to tell you anything more than what chkdsk would.

nor would it be any faster.

if you really want one. try spinrite

Yeah I know but we won't be doing the installs the supervisor will be so we need some thang easy for the stupid fokes.
