Floyd;
Thanks for the feedback, I will take a look at it at the end when I am piecing the entire model together and tweaking it. Hopefully very soon.

I <3 you guys
Nitrofox;
Okay cool
Meathead;
Ha thanks
DCrazy;
Yeah we are
Ferno;
I'll take another look at Brad Pitt's neck to see how prominent his adam's apple is. You're right, my model doesn't have much of one at all.
Archaeloidic,
You and me both buddy
Thanks again everyone some big updates coming soon.

Putting him together; here he is as of right now...
EDIT: Please note the lower body is untextured. I forgot to mention that.
Kind of struggling with the pants... Dunno, they don't look quite right to me. Although I don't have any good references either :/ Cloth modeling = pain in the ass
I'm still trying to get proportions finalized. I think maybe the arms are a little too short... Not sure though. I'd definitely appreciate some feedback.
Also the head might be a little too big... what do you think?
Thanks

Before I start talking I want you to know this is better than I could do this model looks amazing.
That being said, there's a few things...
--the crotch is too wide... the pants should really converge to a ^ kinda.. right now they converge to an arch.... does that make sense?
--Yeah, the wrinkles look a little wierd.
--There's some proportion to be fixed in the legs.. not really sure where to go though....
--There's something strange also going on at the bottom of the shirt and the top of the pants... it looks like the pants have a top then you just forgot to texture skin above that... although that might be fixed by fixing #1.

I only see one thing that stands out most of all
Head is disproportionate to the rest of the body, and arms are too short. anyways still looking good the rest is all minor tweeks
easy way to scale:
height of head should almost equal center of chest to shoulder
2 to 2 1/2 heads for shoulder to waist
about 4 to 4 1/2 heads from waist to ankle.
Arms one hand length away from knee.
elbow 1/2 to 3/4 hand length away from hip.
That's my general rules for portraits and nudes.

Yeah I think you are right, the wrinkles need some work. I will try to add the impression of kneecaps, but they are (supposed to be) warm-up pants so i know they hang kind of loosely. Again, I'm having trouble with these pants...The problem I see with the pants is that the wrinkles look way too circular. They need to go from the crotch down to the shoes, so as to look like they're being worn.
And add some kneecaps.
Pants and shoes are untextured as of right now...but don't worry that section above the pants will be textured to look like skin once that mesh is unwrapped... I agree looks a little wierd right now without the textures...--There's something strange also going on at the bottom of the shirt and the top of the pants... it looks like the pants have a top then you just forgot to texture skin above that... although that might be fixed by fixing #1.
Hey man this is great stuff, thanks for taking the time to type those out for me.That's my general rules for portraits and nudes.
I'm going to be working a lot on this model this weekend, can't so much at the end of the week due to work... But I'd really like to get this model finalized sometime between Sunday and Wednesday next week so I can start the rig next weekend.

Hey guys... lots of little changes, editing the proportions of the legs, the arms, the torso, the head in relation to the body...
Tried to give more of an impression of knees and textured the pants. Shoes are still untextured, I'll be unwrapping them tonight.
Any comments, anything you think needs more work please let me know! This is getting to the homestretch and once I start rigging animating there will be no more edits to the geometry/textures.
Thanks again for all the replies!

He needs hair on his stomach -- actually, his entire chest.
The pants are too thick. Look in the middle pose, around the shoe. See how the pants round out like plastic? Warmup pants are flat. Also, the specific problem with the lighting is that it's too smooth. The wrinkles must be hard-edged to look right.

Okay well things went a lot slower than planned but here he is as of right now, fully modeled and textured.
No, not perfect but this is a school project so I'm going to have to move on to the rig this weekend so I can animate him in the coming weeks. I'll probably set aside a few hours tomorrow night to touch up a couple weak spots but this is pretty much how he's going to look....
DCrazy, not sure what you mean by too thick..
peace

I think one of the things that makes it look somewhat awkward is that his legs aren't long enough to match his torso. Same goes for his arms, this gives the impression that his legs/arms are a tad stubby compared to the rest of him.
Not by much mind you, but enough where the unbalanced proportions are noticeable. I had/have this problem quite often while freehand sketching, depending on the perspectives and actions of the characters being drawn.
Small small points though, it is an amazing likeness. Keep up the good work.

yeah low pants will make it look like he has short legs. is there anything you can do with his hips/legs to show the legs are longer?
if not, then you will definitely need to remember this in the animation, you gotta make sure his pants react like his legs start comparitively close to the pant line.
actually now i look at it again, i think his legs ARE a little too short, even for low pants. he's gotta have the knee bends/folds in his pants quite low down to show his pants are low. they arn't really "baggy" pants, just low. all low pants look kinda baggy in places i guess.
wow this is quite complicated no?

Hi guys, thanks for the comments/crits...
As for his legs I admit they aren't perfect but on the bright side you don't even see his lower body in the cuts I am compositing. His lower body will only be seen in showcase renders such as a posed spinny or a walk cycle animation.
I will be rigging the model this weekend. I would like to have it done by Sunday but might run over because I don't have much experience in that area.
Once he is rigged I will post another render and at that point it should be very easy to tell where his knees are.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but the project I'm working on is a group project. My friend is modeling Ed Norton (The Narrator). Here's a still.
I'm done rigging Tyler and have started his facial expressions. I'll be spending the remainder of the week touching things up. Will start animating on Saturday.

DT I started on the animation you asked for. I still need to work on the projectory. Other than that I think its everything you wanted.
