Tiled pattern for metal textures?

Post by []V[]essenjah »

Just wondering, I've seen textures like this before and this is the pattern I need to figure out how to make as it is very useful for various models and looks really nice:

Does he just create a bunch of tiles and lay them out and texture each one a little differently?

Well I used a tile texture on a 3d model once, and what I did is I made my texture (it was a camo texture) and placed a paneling texture on top of it as some form of effect (soft light or something, I forgot)

I like that. Gives it a mean look. Too bad we can't find a use for the new Army digi camo. uh.. in someother color of course.

it does bring the question of how large the missile actually is.

Messenger, I believe Kuman used a modified version of a generic texture that comes with Lightwave and 3D Studio Max. I honestly cannot remember the filename off the top of my head, but I do know that its used with ALOT of Babylon5 meshes. (Used in the show in-fact!)
