A poll out today shows 40% of the people think they are better off now than they were 4 years ago with 35% saying just the opposite. So how do you feel?

Well, I'm sure that my life is the same as it was 4 years ago despite the fact that I'm done with college.

But, in regards to what you're getting at with the question itself, yeah, it's still the same so nya :P *smacks woodchip again* :P

2000 vs. 2004

had a job vs. still have same job even though many have been laid-off
made $ vs. make more $
married vs. married
no child vs. child
not in school vs. in grad school
had a mom, grandfather, father in-law, and brother in-law vs. they are all gone
had a boat load of free time vs. have no free time at all
suck at D3 vs. suck at D3

Over all I would say it is a wash leaning a little on the negative side. If it werenâ??t for the loss of 4 family members in two months late last year, I would have to say things are much better than they were in 2000.

All this has nothing to do with the current political situation which is what you are asking I believe. On that front, as for me personally, things are about the same.

I'd say so too, Dedman. So sorry about the losses in the family.

This too will pass.

This is a stupid question really. You're trying to make a point that life has improved since Clinton has been out of office (or something with that dash of right wing spice you add to every post to make it mmmm mmm conservative) am I right? If so, does "better off" mean economically? Socially? Happiness? If so, is it possible that it has nothing to do whether one stupid corrupt redneck is in office or another? Maybe we've actually improved our lives because we've gotten off our lazy asses and made it better for ourselves?

Let's see...
2000...I was 13. :P

No car vs Car
No job vs Job
No girlfriend vs Girlfriend
Chubby, out of shape vs less chubby (:P), in shape
Broke vs Still Broke

Has life improved? Yes. Has it been because I worked at it? Yes. Has it been because being 13 sucks and being 17 is a lot better? most definitley. Has it been because of GW in office? Heh.

Roid, lets try financially as I suppose this will be the crux of what the dems will base their ploy for power on.

i just made up a joke:

Democratic senator Darren Hills, nicknamed "Dar" by his 8month old son, one day has a heart attack.
he's so rich, that he gets the Doc to install a GOLDEN pacemaker to keep his ticker in check.

headline reads:

"There's Gold in Dem Dar. Hills!"
