I got the Window Security Update CD today

It comes with a one year trial of AV and firewall software (Computer Associates eTrust).

This will come in handy when helping people who never run windows update and then wonder why things don't work.

I must admit, I now despise M$ slightly less now.

It has all the updates except the java ones? IIRC Microsoft was forced by sun to remove the MS virtual machine, so now you have to use the sun java instead. I decided that first sun java was about 8-12 times slower then the MS one, and it loaded a tray icon which lead to me permanatly removing it from my system and finding a copy of the MS one.

You realize you can turn that off....right?

Start/Settings/Control Panel/Java Plugin 1.4.0_01/

Select "Do not start console" and hit apply.

Thats it.

btw, you do also realize that the MS Java VM has a vulnerability...right?

Ohh, it doesn't come with EVERY update, just those that were released for that month only.
