At work I use gotoassist to connect to customers computers to resolve issues on there systems. Well at home I don't have goto assist to connect to friends computers to help them, what programs do all of you use to get this done, ive heard of PCanywhere, goto assist and logmein, what all have you tried and liked? Which ones are free?
Other than XP Remote Desktop, RealVNC is my favorite out of the ones I've used (I've used about five, including a DameWare tool, RAdmin 3.0, and a couple of others).
I use RealVNC, its cross platform compatible and if you get the Enterprise version (which is what I recommend) you can login using NT User credentials and the whole session is AES encrypted.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on disk somewhere.
I like RealVNC alot, now that i remember I used to toy around with it at work, we would use it to login to windows 98 machines etc on our local network, is there a easy way on setting it up to login to someones machine accross the internet without configuring port forwarding and stuff like that, considering most of the time i will be on 192.168.x.x ips as will my friends on there own routers as well.
Heh, RealVNC has always worked for me, even over my sloooooooow connect. WHat's best is that the standard computer remote in utility thingie that comes with Kubuntu Linux can tlak to a VNC server, mighty convienent.
