Configuring D3 Mouse Control
Hey, all. I've discovered something about D3 that I really hate... if you press too many keys at once, the keyboard stops responding, so to work around this, I've started using mouse control.
The problem is I can't play with inverted mouse, and most servers ban Mouselook.
What I'm looking for is either a way to invert the Flight Sim mouse control, or override the server's setting for Mouselook.
Thanks for your input!

Well overriding the server's mouselook would be considered cheating, since those on KB and joy can't turn 180deg in 1s. As for inverting the mouse, I think you should be able to click on the little ? in front of the control (to the left) and set it to be reversed, if I recall correctly. I haven't messed with those settings recently, so I dont know 100%

You can invert axis by pressing the \"?\" button in joy/mouse config that is to the left of the assignments, you can also adjust the sensitivity by clicking \"adjust settings\" on the top.
In flightsim mode you can only turn so fast, you are limited by the speed that the ship can actually turn. All players are subject to this same limit, Descent doesn't play like quake or other mouse controlled first person shooters. The way the game works, nothing is as responsive as the keyboard, but also nothing is as clunky and imprecise as the keyboard.

If you're still having keyboard conflicts, you might also try something like this, it's worked perfectly for me.
And x2 on what d3jake and Krom said. There are very good reasons for not allowing mouselook in online play.

That is not D3 causing the problem, it is the Chorded Limit of YOUR cheap keyboardRed_5 wrote:Hey, all. I've discovered something about D3 that I really hate... if you press too many keys at once, the keyboard stops responding, so to work around this, I've started using mouse control.
Get a Keytronic Lifetime Series II ps2/usb flavors
cheap keyboard 3 keys at once max
semi-cheap keyboard 5 keys at once max
Lifetime Series II - as many fingers you can muster
Oh and what i Mean by cheap is not the Price ! it's the quality of the chip on the board
Only Thing Descent 3 has an Issue with is Multiple hardware of multiple Devices
IE
1 keyboard + 1 mouse + 2 joysticks = OK
1 keyboard + 1 mouse + 4 joysticks = OK
2 keyboards + 1 mouse + 2 joysticks = BAD will not see second+joy
I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

But guess what. Descent 3 does this on every single computer I have tried, and Descent 1 % 2 DON'T do this. I am 100% sure it is the game.BUBBALOU wrote:That is not D3 causing the problem, it is the Chorded Limit of YOUR cheap keyboardRed_5 wrote:Hey, all.
