Mac + Joystick?

Post by Firewheel »

I finally got Descent II (D2X-XL) to run on my iBook, but how do I get my joystick (Sidewinder Precision Pro II) to work with it? I can't find any drivers and there doesn't appear to be any \"game devices\" control on OSX. Any ideas?

They never made an OS X version of the driver, I'm afraid. The stick might appear as a HID device, though, at which point it should be visible to any app that uses GLUT to process input.

What would that have to do with OS X?

From the sounds of that response, nothing at all. :P I wasn't sure which mac OS was based off a linux kernel.

Absolutely none. ;) OS X is based on Darwin, which is XNU (Mach kernel) + BSD userland.
