Which is the better? Law and Order or CSI.

Post by fliptw »

Its already confirmed that CBS has ordered up a third CSI, this one set in NYC, and better use Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" for a theme; I've read rumors of Dick Wolf developing yet another LaO show for NBC.

Which makes you wonder what Tv land is coming to.

Is this franchising a bit too excessive?

YES! and many franchises are international.
we get AUSTRALIAN idol, etcetcetcetcetcetcetc (i don't watch these stupid channels anymore)

(but i havn't watched the other CSI series much yet, i prefer the original)

i don't really watch law and order, coz i'm too stupid to follow the plot haha (intruigue confuses me, i just sit there screaming "STOP LYING EVERYONE!" at the tv)

L&O owns CSI any day. L&O also hasn't felt the need to expand itself to a different city; there are currently three L&O shows all set in the same city. Makes for some interesting crossovers sometimes.

After about the 10th season, I got tired of LaO. And SUV is not only depressing, the cops just seem too self-righteous. The problem I have w/ CI is that one guy does everything. He never needs help from his partner.

I like CSI Miami now -- Horatio is cool.

As for theme song, I suggest Joe Walsh: I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime, life's been good to me so far.

Law and Order hands down. Always an interesting story line. And the guy on L&O Criminial Intent is a trip.

one problem with CSI is how DNA evidence is tested almost instantly as soon as it gets down to the lab.

it'd normally take days/weeks.

there's no delays in CSI, makes for faster, yet unrealistic viewing.

Well in L&O, you never get to understand that these cops work more than one case, and it takes a lot longer than five acts/42 minutes to investigate, arrest, and prosecute someone.

Part of why I like CSI is ebcause it isn't set in NYC. So I don't know how I'll like the new series. The cast will be introduced in May on CSI: Miami. There's somethign I'm confused about, on Law and Order they always refer to the crime lab people as "CSU" so shouldn't the NYC CSI be called CSU then?

Technically yes but the new series will be called CSI: NY, NY.
