FC, not saying disrespect is justified, just that it's expected. Would you post a pic of your wife or daughter showing that much cleavage on this board and expect civil responses? I sure wouldn't -- I know this place too well. If a woman here provides even the slightest hint of immodesty, guys are going to make crude remarks. They know better than to say such stupid things in person, but here they're out of slapping range so their civility disappears. Rather than trying to change that, I've learned to simply not post anything that'd give them room to start making dirty jokes.
Anyway, here's my ugly mug:

Summer vacation here happens in the summer as well. For example, my summer vacation lasts from June 10 to September something (5th I think). We get an extra week off for Christmas.
the holidays inbetween years (my summer) went from sometime in November until February.

roid, we spend approximately 180 days per year in school (just under half of the year.) This is 5 days a week for about 36 weeks, broken into either 2 18-week or 3 12-week blocks (semesters or quarters.) There are quite a few short holidays (single days like Labor Day, and the occasional pair of days like at Thanksgiving.) Long breaks come at the following times:
- last 2 weeks of December, through at least Jan 2 (Christmas break)
- 1 week in late March or early April (10-12 weeks -- either a full quarter, or a little over half of a semester -- after Christmas break)
- beginning sometime in May or June (either one semester or 2 quarters after Christmas), we get a full 3 months off. For me, this will be from mid-June to mid-September. At my last school, it was from early May to early August.
Couver, nice pic. I notice nothing funny is written on the bomb this time, though. Where were you when this was taken?

The squid wins the photo award, hands down. I'm sure it's been said before here, but the folks back home thank you for your service, Couver.Couver_ wrote:Lothar that was in between Turkey and Cyprus.
