What do bored kids living at home do? Throw the largest wildest party ever! Just be glad he isn't your kid, or your neighbor. Check it out. The guy isn't even going to apologize for the damage he caused, let alone show his face to the reporter. Hmmmmmm.

i can't stand this Current Affair shite, only old people watch it so they can discuss how \"kids thesedays are outof control\" around the nursing-home watercooler.

these sensationalist shows are specifically designed to appeal to such people, who seem to live off fingerpointing and moral-outrage.

It's just a party, gatecrashers are common.

The kid is my hero, refusing to be intimidated by that holier-than-thou ★■◆● on national tv. His mocking apathy and completely lack of recognition or respect towards the reporter is entirely warrented, these TV shows are absolute guttertrash.

This kid - this whole story in fact - gives me the absolute screaming s***ts.

Property was damaged, people were injured - and there are now idiots offering him money to host underage parties! Unfortunately all the media coverage is not instilling any sense of restraint or humility in this bloke.

I've got no problem with kids holding parties, and if gatecrashers turn up and you have no security, then it's always going to turn ugly. But this guy is absolving himself of all resposibility for damage to private and public property. He refuses to be held accountable for any of his actions - What a gutless wonder!

Roid is right about \"A Current Affair\" & \"Today Tonight\" - their demographics are firmly aimed at the Blue Rinse set, and they slag off at younger people given the opportunity...any opportunity! They pander to the base instincts of the nervous, the gullible, the ill-informed and the naieve. I remember an asian businesman commited suicide years back after one of their so called \"exposes\" (IE Beat-ups) because of the sheer loss of face. Shameless!!

NB: This kid's parents are currently on their way back to their home town from their Brisbane holiday (what were they thinking leaving a 16y.o. kid unsupervised anyway??) ...I wonder if the right royal arse-kicking he's gong to get will also receive as much coverage?

The "Chasers" shows get most of their material by mocking these current affair shows.

So to close the loop a bit for you non-australians: The aussie guys who dressed up as osama bin laden and broke through many layers of security (they got right outside of Bush's hotel when he came to australia) pretending to be a Candian motorcade. These are the "Chaser" guys.
The Chaser guys are almost directly fueled by ironic outrage over the rediculousness of these Current Affair shows. A huge amount of their shows are dedicated to mocking these current affair shows.

The 2 major prime time current affair shows "A Current Affair" and "Today Tonight", are storys consisting of:

General Racism (zomg immigrants!)
General SoccerMum concerns, such as Germs and Weight loss.
People who appear to be lazy.
People who appear to be ripping off anyone: the government.
Old people who get ripped off by everyone (lol)
Small Groups who seem to commonly rip people off and are easy to marginalise - ie: tradesmen. (appeals to "the milkman tries to steal my jewelery!" kinds of paranoid old ppl)
Kids outof control.
Anything or anyone who is "outof control".
General "the sky is falling" panic troll storys.

You gotta remember, this is the country who gave the world Rupert Murdock.

While the kid may be some poeple's hero.... he should be held fiscally liable for the damage to public property that resulted from his party. For that matter, his parents should hold him liable for the damage to the house. If you ask me, a \"you break it, you buy it\" policy for dealing with this sort of thing is that best way to keep the public from getting screwed by one person's antics.

I don't like lawyers, and I'm not exactly sue-happy, but I'd be pissed if it where my tax dollars paying for this idiot's goofing off.

I'm glad he's not my neighbor! What a weenie. Can't even show his face to the public. What's he afraid of, a royal ass kicking by the locals who had damage done my his idiocy?

I live in a college town and a few years back, frat row got really out of hand, with really wild parties, drunken brawls in the street, vandalism, public urination, etc. The local neighbors finally got fed up and forced the police to crack down. Now these poor little spoiled college kids whine when they get a MIP (minor in posession of alcohol) or their wild parties get shut down.

News of this traveling world wide, causing great embarrasment to his parents.

When I first watched this, I admit, I got a slight chuckle out of it, but I thought about it for a while, and realized that this kid is a real brat. What's worse is that so many people are justifying his behavior by glorifying his actions. I'm quite sure that if it were your child, you would be pretty pissed off. And if you think you would be proud that this is your kid, then I'll pray that you don't reproduce.

I think you'll find that the child pornography charges came up because he either started (or threatened) to distribute the footage for money, status etc.

There have been other cases of wild parties by teenagers in Australia in years gone past, but charges have never been laid. What makes this case so newsworthy is that (a) the bloke is unrepentant and (b) there are people wiling to exploit the situation (and a really bloody naive 16y.o.) for their own personal gain.

By slapping child pornography charges on Corey, the police effectively cut his profitability to unscrupulous promoters and protect the people who were (allegedly) filmed.

I haven't heard anything else about this story in the media since the charges were laid, so I can only assume that it worked - the media have backed off, the offers have dried up and his 15 minutes are thankfully over.

The frontal lobes of the brain don't fully develop until about 25 years of age. Until then, hormones and stupidity rule. What I don't get is why the parents even left this kid alone.

I recall one large private party my friend held, i knew practically everyone there.

But some group came off the street and tried to gatecrash it, they tried to fight their way in. And later on in the night they came back as we were all leaving and conked my on my friends round the head with an iron pipe - he went to hospital iirc.
We were not expecting any of this.

It was a private party.
But this is what gatecrashers do.
Should police charge the party organiser for the assault?

He decided to take advantage of his parent's absense, and because of that, things went to crap. But instead of dealing with a situation that started BECAUSE of his original action, he decided to not deal with it and not apologize.
