PC network issue: Missing Device?

Post by []V[]essenjah »

I have an interesting question. I'm trying to fix someone's computer that is using PPPoE protocols. Their connection and account settings work fine if I hook my laptop up to their connection. Their network card looks fine, I even tried re-installing it. When I create a new PPPoE account, it shows a large red X and says: Missing Device on the icon. Anyone know what's up with this?

I suspect corrupted internet protocols myself.

you must turn off the modem before you connect a new pc/laptop to it's ethernet port. This is so the modem can scan/read the new MAC address from hardware connected at the other end of the Ethernet cable. Otherwise it's still will only allow the MAC address from your laptop it has in it's table file to use it's connection.

ENJOY

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.
