Car Stereo Question.....
Car Stereo Question.....
I have an older Alpine head unit lying around from before I had sattelite installed that I would like to install into my son's truck, but I don't have any of the mounting hardware necessary. It is a CDA 7838. I have the old harness from my Honda Prelude, but he has a Chevy S-10 and I'm sure it will have a different harness. I also do not have the actual mounting kit for the dash.
Does anyone know where I might find this stuff other than eBay? I have looked around a little, but haven't found much of anything. I would prefer to have something new, but something that works would do fine as well..... Thanks.

http://www.scosche.com/
This place will sell you a plug in adapter that brings out the factory wiring to pigtails so you can splice it there. Labeled and easy as pie. They will also have a mounting kit for the S-10 that will make it look factory. Call around your local installer shops and ask if the sell the Scosche connectors and mounting kits. Makes installs a breeze.

Re:
Look at the gash in the dash when you remove the behemoth factory radio of an S-10 and then get back to us about mounting kits.[]V[]essenjah wrote:What, no wiring diagram? Mounting kits are for lazy people
I hard-wired my system in without any mounting kit.
