Last I checked, a parent is legally obliged to care and protect the child from harm. To me, refusing medical help because of a belief is a sign of negligence on the parents' behalf.

You do have a choice in which church you can get married in. it's not like the in-laws at all. If you let someone you won't spend your life with dictate what you can and cannot do, you're gonna end up very miserable.
