colors are a little messed up ...
I noticed the 'Active Link' color is the default purple, I think it was a dark gold or something originally.

YEs they are, but ...
When you "click" or make it active the color is the default purple.
The body tag back when SUP and I worked out the color scheme was ..
text="#66CCFF"
bgcolor="#000000"
link="#66FFCC"
vlink="#33FFFF"
alink="#99CCFF" <<<<<<----- this is the color I am talking about.
Maybe the present Admin prefered the default purple, if that is the case I retract my comment, which in the first place was more of an observation.

click on a link then release it. notice while it's depressed it's purple and it'll remain that way until another link is depressed.
I am sorry I can't imagine why I would argue such a point, especially since I WAS the one that selected the color scheme, but obviously there are others that know more about how,what,where and why of the DBB than I do

Running Mozilla 1.5, the link color doesn't change when I click a link.
Running IE6, the link color does change when I click, to something dark-bluish.
Test:
My Post
edit: weirder still, it doesn't do it on [ url ] links -- only on links it auto-converts, like
