External HD problems/questions

A friend has an West. Dig. WD5000C032 that she dropped and not working.

It shows \"Mass storage\" in the Dev mgr and we've deleted and plugged it in again.

Can she get into it to see if any connections loose.

Can she set it up as a slave like you can with an internal hd?

Needs to get files off if possible.

She should be able to connect it via internally. But if you can't see it from the USB connection, I doubt putting it inside will help.
