Really!! You got a link for that one, I was under the impression it was the missile east. If thats true why are we waiting, lets knock the missile east down, level it and start over in our own image. We could then become there new gods and they can pray to U.S.TIGERassault wrote:Considering that Canada is the country that exports the most oil to the US...

I think we get approximately 30% from the middle east.
Canada, Mexico and Argentina are our top three suppliers I believe.
Does anyone else wonder if the mainstream press will ever report on the democrats complete lack of any plan to change our foreign energy dependence?
Could they be any more complicit in the big democrat energy issue dodge?!?!
Right now the Russians (in the Arctic region) and Chinese (with the help of Cuba) are going to be drilling for oil offshore of North America...I'd just love to watch the video of Greenpeace boats approaching their rigs! Do people really think the planet is cleaner by leaving the drilling up to countries like China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran?!?! Incredibly stupid policy to have let things get this out of whack!!!
And on a related note, if the French aren't afraid to build nuclear reactors to power their country shouldn't we do the same? It's god damn embarrassing!!!
If there ever was a time to vote against every incumbent it is this election cycle and that includes not voting for Mr. $12 per gallon Obama and McCain the only dinosaur who's bones haven't made it to the gas pump!!!
I'm so pissed off at my fellow Americans I could spit!!!

Some very good points Will. I am pretty upset myself with the way things are going. This country has turned into a bunch of woosies. Any country who cry's foul we buckle under and send them tons of money to make things right. We do the same thing on the home front also, and its holding us back. Won't be much longer and we will be in the stone ages ourselves if the American people don't grow a back bone and soon.

[Imports of Oil tnto the US by Country of Origin]
In terms of crude oil, the countries that export the most to America are:
Canada (59k)
Saudi Arabia (44k)
Mexico (38k)

Yes, because since the good guys are drilling, we should too! Will Robinson wrote:Right now the Russians (in the Arctic region) and Chinese (with the help of Cuba) are going to be drilling for oil offshore of North America...I'd just love to watch the video of Greenpeace boats approaching their rigs! Re:
I agree... it's despicable, the state in which this nation has ended up. It's not just the Democrats, however. Every president this country has ever had has helped make it what it is today. Democrat, Republican, and otherwise... and worst of all, every citizen of this nation, every damned one of us is responsible. We put those presidents into office, we voted (or didn't vote) for them... what this country really needs is not just a backbone, not just some brains, but some good old-fashioned responsibility. Heh, I'm not even a conservative, and I agree with some of what they're saying. This nation needs to act. The citizens need to inform themselves. Everyone needs to do their part to help, and you know what? Will Robinson wrote:I think we get approximately 30% from the middle east.

It's not going to happen.
Too many people have agendas, hidden or otherwise. Too many people are greedy, or selfish, or stupid, or ignorant. Too many people choose not to listen to the voice of reason... I'll tell you who made this nation the way it is today.
It's us.
May God, or some sufficiently comparable force, have mercy on our souls.

I wasn't trying to affix blame on anyone for the energy prices but I am pointing the finger of blame at the mainstream press who is giving the democrats a pass even though they haven't made any attempt at coming forth with a plan to deal with it!
In the current political debate, which will certainly land us with either a democrat or republican president, it is fair for me to expect both parties to offer some kind of leadership regarding one of the most pressing issues of the day!!
If you want to just sweep it under the rug and try to call it partisan politics, well, go ahead, it's up to you to recognize reality and common sense...or not.
