Descent 3 in Wine crashes

I am currently running the Windows version of Descent 3 in wine, and whenever I try to open up the video tab in the setup menu, the game crashes. Any suggestions on what to do?

Decant it first? Dry it out? Sober it up? Switch to a French vintage?

Why not run the native Linux version?

What version of wine are you running? Run in a terminal and post any relevant-looking terminal output.

And, What more are you running the video in? I'd use openGL, personally.
