DDR2 ram

Post by woodchip »

Reading in my ASUS P5Q deluxe MB manual, I see I can use the 1066 speed ram. Corsair has a kit of (2) 2gb sticks (CORSAIR TWIN2X4096-8500C5D 4gb kit (2gb x 2) pc28500 1066mhz matched pair 5-5-5-15 240-pin ddr2 dimm)that I can get here:

http://www.eworldsale.com/corsair-twin2 ... 25793.html

for 113.00 after rebate. Got to buy by 9/23 tho.

So any info as to using this over the 800mhz ram?
Any bad/good experience using the Corsair ram?

Also should add I'll still be using winxp pro unless someone convinces me otherwise

Same thing, $96 after rebate with free shipping.

What is your processors bus speed and what memory are you currently using?

CPU is the Q6600 and has a bus speed of 1066mhz. I'm building from scratch so I have no ram mem. yet.
