Monitor was either not readable or just black.
Seems to be working now but has \"VGA\" on the screen at startup.
Not my computer so don't know if that \"VGA\" is normal or a sign that something is still wrong.
What say ya'll.

She's wiggled the cords on the back of the monitor and it goes black but since it was on but scrambled at one time, I assume it's not the power cord.

Could be a bent/snapped off pin in the VGA connector or possibly FUBAR'd Video Adapter.

Broken VGA cables can do things like make the whole screen turn different shades of color or make the screen go blank, or make the video go out of sync depending on what contact/wire is damaged.

She took it in and the fan wasn't working on the video card.
Thanks for the posts.
