I think it is around $1.50 here, I fill up maybe once every 3 months.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on disk somewhere.

Lowest here is 2.13.

It was funny yesterday, I had to prepay so I gave the guy $45 and he said \"uhh, you know gas is 2.13. You'd have to have a 20 gallon tank in there.\" Close, it was 18, but I only had to pay $32 when I was done. I got used to paying up the wazoo to fill up, I was worried that $45 wasn't going to cover it.

Why is it I live in the Province that produces the oil, and pay 88.9¢/L ? I have seen 1.55/L as well.

Obviously Albertans are being gouged.

Seems to be an average of about $1.52/L here for 91-octane, or $1.57/L for 96.

Check it: http://www.gasbuddy.com/

Cheapest gas in my area is $1.97 down in Kent/Covington, and $2.05 (after applying frequent-shopper discount) at the Fred Meyer where I usually fill up. Since I fill up about once every 6 weeks, it's not that big of a deal...

On the way to school I've seen $1.89/gal. Pity that the prices drop when people have so less money they can't afford to vacation :/

That's the reason the prices are dropping.

Yah, I'm thinking how convenient that the prices have gone drastically down now when the holidays are right around the corner and the election's over. It's helping me out a bit, I never paid more than 40 dollars. Now, I pay barely $20 when I fill up on weekends just to get my car's gas tank full, even if it was half full. The extra money goes toward our house so another good thing that we picked this time to buy a house. =)

This was supposed to be a joke but no one took the bait :? I was expecting a "What is that supposed to mean?" I did some searching and there were missing Chinese reported recently in the news :o but that is not what I meant. Here is the rest of the joke...

Well, the spin doctors in the news media were saying that a major reason why gas is so high is because the Chinese are becoming a more "developed" country and are using more oil (I guess they were riding goats 5 years ago.) So now that gas has dropped 60% the only logical conclusion is that the Chinese were abducted by aliens.

Gas is about $2.05 here in south central PA.

There are actually several reasons for the changes in gas prices. China might be one of them, but they probably have more of an influence on e.g. steel and copper prices.

Other proposed reasons were:
* Speculators buying oil futures en masse pushing the price up
* Middle Eastern instability (though this was more an issue in 03/04 than now)
* Demand outstripping supply (the whole \"peak oil\" thing)

P.S. It was bicycles, not goats. ;)

1 Dollar and 69.9 cents per gallon spotted early this morning in Oklahoma City.

Don't expect it will stay that price long however.

This is bs. The second I start driving, gas is tons of money. The second I stop, it drops down to two somethin.

I saw maybe 2.48 about a week ago here in LA; could be lower now.

Prices range wildly here in Baltimore; in the ghetto I've paid $1.89, up in hoity-toity Roland Park I've seen it as high as $2.35.
