There is definitly market potential, not only would essentially every D1-3 player buy it, I know several people who though D3 was cool but too old to bother with.
That and if they properly market D4, it may actually be as popular as the battlefield games.

Sol/Kyouryuu: Parallax is currently engaged in a lawsuit led by BioWare against Interplay. Their refusal to give Orbital the go-ahead on the Descent 4 project was due in part to their legal preparation for the lawsuit.

I think it's a bit too late to count on Interplay to make these sequels it speaks of.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/baldursg ... 13738.html -- From September 2001. Google for "bioware parallax interplay lawsuit" for corroboration.

I'm not sure if the litigation is still ongoing, but I haven't been able to find anything pertaining to a resolution, so I'd assume the case is still working its way through the system.

Of the people who recognize Descent that I've talked to, few were aware there was actually a third Descent.

Most gammers in the 20+ range know about descent. There was a time when doom2 and Descent1 completely held the market. Almost every gammer I knew had both.

Unless the game were merely in the Descent "universe" and not a true sequel.

Actually, most gamers who were playing around 1994-1996 would probably know about D1 and D2.

If they, or who ever, finally make it or patch the current I'll get it and try it. D3 is still the best game out for high-speed action. I just wish I could play better.
