Did anyone else want to see it wreck into a tree and explode or fall in the water?

Flying time of 5 minutes between charges, unless you stick an extension cord on the thing. That's not very impressive.

well, it's pretty impressive for a BATTERY powered FLYING/HOVERING machine (weight is very important).

perhaps they should use a central combustion engine with seperate clutching + chain running out to each propellor. this would make it more expensive i spose (clutching is $), and also the single combustion engine would be a lot heavier than the 4 seperate electric motors, but using combustion fuel would greatly improve the flight time.

Yea, catch-22, I know. But can't justify $1000 for 5 minute flight times!

Combustoin engines would weigh more, but are more powerful, so it balances out somewhat. If the torque conversion/gear ratio could be expanded, you could use a smaller engine and get something decent. The engines for the RC cars are pretty light.

You can get a tether cord for it, negating battery recharge time. Flying for an hour is plenty, if you're desperate, buy another battery.

If I had the money, I'd be flying one now rather then posting here. :P

Wonder if they'll come out with an RC Pyro 8)

I'd like to see that thing fly with a 500' tether cord. Impractical.
