Yeah, the mold for the bottom of all precision pros had those signatures on them (the precision 2 had a metal bottom plate so it doesn't have them).
But if it is the trigger button that isn't working for you, the bottom of the stick is the wrong place to look. There are 3 or 5 screws in the actual stick part that you have to remove and then it pops open fairly easily (but be careful not to break the plastic hinges that hold the trigger switch on). After that you just have to find a Omron (or compatible) branded switch and replace the worn out one. Some soldering skills are required though, so don't attempt it if you don't have the right tools.

Didn't you ever sign the bottom of the clay things you made in school? don't artists sign their paintings? Obviously these folks were proud of the product.
I saw that too on mine years ago. Pretty cool. I was looking to see if I could tighten the slop up in the stick's throw. IIRC, it uses a plastic spring? I forget.
My favorite was the 2 large steel ball bearings in the base. Give the dang thing some weight.

Digikey carries the trigger & hat switches. I can dig up links to the parts if you need them.
