fps drop!!

i got a 2.8 atlon system with 1 gig ram and 1 gig vid card..when a lot of action goes in my fps drops a lot,,,what should i do??

Get a new computer

For a start: What brand/model GF/X card ? Running D3 on D3D or OGL ? What's running in the background ?

if the fps still drop to no good with the \"-nosound\" command line option, seperate vga and sound card ressources (IRQ!) or get a better sound card (which is still no guarantee for more speed). hercules cards performed very well last time i checked.

Click Start/Run and type in \"dxdiag\" (without quotes) and hit OK.

Goto the sound tab and move the sound acceleration slider to the far left disabling sound acceleration completely.

Reboot, enjoy.

What is your:

Operating system
are your drivers current (all drivers)
Which Descent are you running? 1,2,3, D2x-XL or rebirth XX?
