man me and vindi just got back from Punisher, i think it is plainly one of the best movies hollywood has put out as of late. it is just badass!

Badass indeed. The lead character didnt really do much in the way of dramatic acting, but there were enough explosions, trickery, and guns to make up for it

but Punisher came before Max Payne though. So who's copying who?
Anyway, I agree, no special FX, no special camera tricks. All good down-to-earth photography and on the set explosions. Classic film making. I liked it.

I think it's cool that a movie based on a comic book actually had the guts to retain the dark nature of the comic book, rather than dumbing it down to make it kid-friendly.

Its a shame the Spawn movie that came out a few years back was such a piece of flaming shiz. Sigh.
