Anyone else remember this cartoon? Basic plot the battleship Yamato made into a spaceship and renamed the Argo on a quest to save planet earth.. Its very good.The animation gets better the longer it goes in.

I just got "Quest for Iscandar" the whole thing on DVD so its been a good night.

I know it goes on to another plot line, I will be buying the next installment before to long.

Kinda cool sometimes when you can watch things and remember childhood. The concept of a big arse Battleship in space kicking arse awed me as a kid.

Side note the Captains name is Avatar.. Man I wish I could find a that pic I would make Avatar my Avatar..
Would work on so many levels..

Yeah, I watched it when I was a kid. Cool opening theme. I think the original Japanese version was called "Battleship Yamato."

Cartoon network had it as streaming video off the toonami website a long time ago, looked intersting but I never watched the whole thing.

My (recent) ex has the intro music for it..plays it when she gets drunk.

I remember the show, I saw 90% of the episodes, I remember about 5% of them. I think I was 6 when it was new.

I don't remember that name though... It was the big ship that had a super wepon cannon on the front bow that spewed some energy type wepon? And they only used it when they got in a jam? (Which seemed like always)

Ya, it was the "wave motion cannon". I must have a good memory.
