Ok, I'm a late bloomer. I just played through Portal. And I have to say that the end credits are nearly the best part of the game. ... not that the game was bad, it's just the credits were extraordinarily entertaining. ^_^
For those who haven't played it, here it is on U-T00b: I'm still alive
don't worry. There aren't any spoilers.
(I listened to this all days at work..) That's just sad...and a bit twisted.

But you still incinerated your companion cube! Yes, you burned it alive! How could you?!Lothar wrote:the ending of Portal made me so sad, I always rewrote it so that me and GlaDOS got along somehow.

BTW someone in the college of engineering & computer science at my university is clearly a Portal fan- the icon on their web page that leads to the "ECS portal" (where u login to access school resources) is the Aperture Science logo- look in the top left corner

There IS an easter egg that will allow you to spare your favorite cubic pink poke'ball. Pretty nifty too.EngDrewman wrote:But you still incinerated your companion cube! Yes, you burned it alive! Eh... valve's sequels never seem as good as its originals.... Not that I wont buy every little thing they produce.

Portal was awesome - I too just recently got into it.
I beat it last week, then turned a friend on it and let him play.
The game changes the way you think about linear movement*, and its very interesting to see how other people would solve the problem.
Like on one level - he did it a way I didn't think of and was much simpler, but on another level, he made it difficult for himself.
But the fact that you can beat a level using different tactics is pretty cool.
Anyone try the bonus/more difficult maps?
*We were in WalMart the other day and needed to get across the store. i wanted to shoot the ceiling over the isle we needed then shoot the floor.

Not that it's even a fraction as good as the real thing, but have you ever played portal: the flash game?
