Fanny & Freddie Bonus's

Post by CUDA »

with all the outrage about the AIG bonus's and the other companies that paid their managers bonus's. and the call for the CEO's of those companies that paid the bonus's to resign. why is there no outrage about Fannie and Freddie paying their Managers's millions in bonus's and their CEO's being called to resign.

UHM maybe because the CEO's of Fannie and Freedie is Congress themselves????

I was just thinking on this subject. My dad says that the government has no right to take away the contractual bonuses of these people, and that they're purposely stirring up class warfare.

Personally I haven't heard much in the way of common-sense on the issue from any media or political source. Who are our representatives to pass judgment on the executives, outside of the law, using public outrage as their support? They're not judges. This hasn't been tried in a court of law. I also wonder how we can expect AIG to perform well (for us, now that we as a country are invested) with artificial limitations imposed on the rewards that their leading people can expect to get for their efforts. I think the actual bonus money is a real side-issue compared to the political precedents that are being set. It's socialism, plain and simple. We know it doesn't work.

If their bonuses are truly too much, I say they should be docked, after being tried in a court, according to how much their immoral activity that contributed to this crisis contributed to their bonus. That is the only right way to do anything about it, in my opinion. Otherwise we're empowering ideological tyrants who easily take advantage of class envy in order to manipulate democracy to achieve their own ends.

It’s all in the timing, get everyone all riled up over AIG, then there is not much anger left for the Congress’s babies.
