Re:
Well on my page I have some pictures of me and my friends, a little stuff I like, and some music, I guess my occupation, but I don't share anything I wouldn't want just anybody to know. The rest of it I couldn't care less about. I mean, hey, www.myspace.com/nichols12886 theres nothing I have to worry about. I just use it to talk to people easily as I don't like phones.Sirius wrote:It's awesome how much people will do to protect their privacy, then turn around and throw it all away by telling the whole world everything they ever do on Myspace or Facebook.

Also, there's nothing wrong with using Myspace or Facebook, as long as you think when you're using it (either don't put the information you don't want the public to know up there, or restrict access to that information). The main point I'm making is that many people just don't. Quite a few people have been fired for things they've put on Facebook, actually...

My feelings on Myspace/Facebook pretty much match up to most of the opinions on this board to some extent.
Yes, both compromise personal info but only the amount that you disclose on those pages.
However, Myspace, is the junk bin of the internet. I hate it because of random friend requests by people that usually are up to no good and next to pornographic advertisement along with tons of unnecessary garbage that is probably sending tons of spyware to your machine. That is why I stay FAR away from Myspace.
Facebook is clean, I only network with people that I know personally in real life that already know where I live ecs and I only post relevant information and stuff that I want to be seen. Such as, dance videos, pictures from special events that I attend, stuff I'm working on... ecs. The rest, I just don't post.
Pretty much anyone who regularly blogs on boards such as this one, probably disclose as much or more info about themselves than you can find on their Facebook page anyway so it might as well be disclosed to people you already know.
