So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

Post by VonVulcan »

\"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.\" Cicero - 55 BC

Evidently nothing!

Too true, we have learned nothing.
It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.

There are few new problems. The toys change, and the scales of the problems change, but the fundamental nature of the problems - not so much.

That is unfortunately quite true, that we have learned nothing.

Actually, we've learned a lot.

We just have trouble remembering .... until after the fact.

I don't know about humanity as a whole, but one thing I've learned is that since the 19th century or whenever, science has diverged from truth and will converge who knows where x_x

humanity = EPIC FAIL :(
