Logitech G9 vs G9x

Post by ReadyMan »

Tomorrow's my deadline for returning my G9 mouse. April was the target date for the release of the G9x, so I was hoping to do the return and rebuy the new one.
Since it's not been released, and I cant find anything stating when it'll be released (or available for that matter), do you think it's all that much different? Seems the only difference is the 5000dpi limit vs the 3200.

opinions?

AFAICT the only difference is the max. dpi value. I'm happy w/ the G9, not going to upgrade for just that.

I'm not sure but I think this cpi stuff just makes the mouse move faster. :P so if that's true then it's overrated... although the mouse seems to track better with higher DPI. If you crank up the dpi, though, it's hard to get some games to cooperate because you have to keep lowering the sensitivity, and some games won't let you lower it enough.

check the polling speed. DPI is only resolution. can you see the difference betweem 3500 dpi and 5k?

really, for gaming, unless you are one of these feeks of nature that put a pixel on a pixel with a microtwitch .. I wouldn't use that as my rule. One thing to check is how many dpi your monitor has at whatever res you run your programs.

Here's the breawkdown:

It looks like it's a genuinely faster mouse. The gpu is \"considerably\" faster. But Like I said, in a game.. how fast does it need to be? For graphic design, this might rock! ;)
