Recording sound from computer

Post by thewolfe »

I have an mp3 file I want to record a part of using Audacity.

It's recording but no playback sound.

I can't find the \"line in\" dropdown on the menu. Any ideas?

Audacity can edit MP3's.

That worked for my purpose. I'd forgotten that. Thanks.

Still would like to be able to record audio from my computer.

In Windows I assume?

1. Double-click the audio icon in your tray to bring up the full selection of audio volume controls.
2. From the Options menu, select Properties
3. Your choices will vary based on your system and the kind or audio your system has ... select either the Recording controls or select the input audio device.
4. Select the check-box for the audio input you need (thereby selecting the input you need in order to record that input). Close the audio controls.
5. Have fun.
