So people are OK with car searches..homes are next
In a time that the drug war, seat belt laws and government schools are cool this should be no surprise. Now that most people are brainwashed into thinking it is OK for governments to search cars for \"state inspections/emissions\" now homes are next.
The government will never stop until freedom is completely gone. It is a shame hardly anyone in the US knows what freedom is. The only just laws are the ones that protect your freedom from someone else.
If you want to help your country and be one of those \"radicals\" phone or send an email to your senator to ask them to use some common sense and oppose the Clean Energy and Security Act. You can find your Senator's contact info here.
Or if not, just prepare for the neo Third Reich. Meanwhile I'll practice my salute....If you think that sounds crazy, ask yourself one question, \"Would this new law move the US toward freedom or socialism?\"

Look, I have said this for years. When YOU people give up your rights, this kinda thing will happen.
I've watched \"COPS\", I'm sure you have too. How many times do you see people, JUST giving up their rights? I've seen this for OVER 30 years. A COP says, \"Do you mind if I look in your car?\" The \"victim\" says, \"Sure, I have nothing to hide.\"
Next thing you know there's paperwork. It's BS you, I, and the whole world knows it.
It's NONE of your business what I have in my car, my house, my wallet, etc....
Go arrest a f'n crackhead and leave me alone!

It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.

Have the bureaucrats gone absolutely bonkers? There's no way I'll allow that kind of government intrusion into my already built and occupied home. It was bad enough to have to let in the property assessor to verify to the idiot that my basement was unfinished and that it shouldn't be counted as finished space (they should have known that when they inspected the completed home originally). If they want to mandate this for houses being built as part of the permit process, that's one thing, but if this lame-brained idea progresses as proposed, they'll have an insurrection on their hands.

Speaking of reading the bills...woodchip wrote:Only way to find out is for someone to read the bill
Wouldn't it be great if you could immediately impeach a Senator or Congressman if he votes on a bill that he didn't read in it's entirety? And if you could prove 30% of them didn't read it then the law would be retracted.
Better yet, they should be required to write a paper on every bill they vote on describing its contents and their take on the merits and/or flaws in the bill.
It's nothing more demanding than every book report kids do from grade school on up through high school.
Is it too much to ask that they actually read the ★■◆● they push off on us and show they understand what they read?!?!

exactly. I looked but couldn't find it.woodchip wrote:Only way to find out is for someone to read the bill
I looked around on the RESNET website, and there it seemed to be the case that these Energy Audits can also be done online, a bit like Spidey says:
You have to wonder why they wouldn’t simply implement this as a survey, and make it mandatory, like the census…
cool - thanks, Spidey.
had a look for the word \"energy audit\" in there. The only places I could find were those where the bill prescribes INCENTIVES (up to $200 for residential homes) for an energy audit of one's home. I have not found anything that says that such an audit is mandatory. Anyone else had a go and find something?

And I agree that Pandora has a very good point. The website the article is hosted on doesn't exactly look unbiased
Amg! It's on every post and it WON'T GO AWAY!!
Homes are already being inspected in some parts of the Netherlands.
