Hello there,
some time ago I made a vtchid-profile to use the Steel-Battalion-controller with Descent 3. Anyone who wants to use this will now be able to. I also include my pilot-file for the ingame-control-config of the several buttons and axes.
What you need:
- the Steel-Battalion-controller (of course)
- XBOX-USB-converter cable (self-built or SmartJoy X2-USB)
- Descent 3
- latest vtchid-driver from http://www.tamanegi.org/prog/vtchid/
- this config-pack
This config-pack may need some tweaking to work efficiently, but I wanted to give it to you so that you can customize it for your needs.

Thx for your positive replies. I'm not getting much feedback, cause of the rarity of the controller.

and have also done pilot-profiles with default-vtchid-profile for:
- HAWX (working perfectly, played it through)
- X3: Reunion (ingame bug: Aiming lever sometimes deadjusts the viewdirection, so I prefer mouseplay)
Please gimme some more feedback...

You might find it worthwhile to share the configuration for FreeSpace 2 over at Hard Light, the FS community hub. You would reach more FS players there than here.
