I kinda like this story, a real muscle over elctrons:
A Durban IT company pitted an 11-month-old bird armed with a 4GB memory stick against the ADSL service from the country's biggest web firm, Telkom.
Winston the pigeon took two hours to carry the data 60 miles - in the same time the ADSL had sent 4% of the data.

yeah foil. it did. I read that story about two days ago. I can't remember the source, but still.
duper: the point of the excercise was not to test how much the average user can download, but the maximum throughput the largest ISP in the country can deliver. and the numbers do not look good at all.
woody, would it kill you to include a link?

Re:
Did anyone do the math? That's 50 hours to send all of the data! 2 days and 2 hours!
If Telkom says that they are not responsible for their \"turtlenet,\" then who is?

1-4 megs is more the average size.

Finally people can now understand my frustration at times!
Oh and if you think that's bad try this on for size, your options are between 2 - 12gb cap limits then there are the unlimited caps but I'm not paying half my salary for that and if you want unshaped, rates almost double
Like they are so font of saying here:
PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN!
(it's even got a copyrighted logo)
At least its better than the dial up option but still sucks!
Oh and I find this link more amusing thou
