Can anyone five me a LAN for Dummies quick method to set up 2 computors to play a game?

what hardware do I need:

will server comp be only comp game disk needs be in?

Both comp need to have game installed?

Don't suppose a x-box could be added in?

I want to set up so just 2 people can play so hopefully nothing extravagant needed. I have 2 PC's and 1 x-box. Game of choice right now would be Fallout 3.

Proposed server is a intel quad core with a 4870 vid running on win xp pro.
thanks

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

typically, Xbox and Pc aren't compatible for gaming. But you can hook your xbox up to the same switch if you want to share a net connection.

Do you have a router you're running your internet through? If so, you can use that instead of buying a switch.

If the game can be played without a dedicated server (e.g. one player hosts the game), it's even easier because you won't need a third machine. If that's the case, you can even just use a 'crossover' ethernet cable directly between two machines.

Get your cables and accessories from Mono Price, and pay wholesale prices for cables and some equipment. In short, Mono Price will save you tons of money in the long run.
