Winter is on its Way

Post by Canuck »

Woke up to snow and a heavy snowfall warning in Canuck-Land this morning. Winter is on its way to my Southern neighbors.

Oh dang it, that means I only get to enjoy 60 degree days!

Daily frost here ... snow predicted in just a couple days. Tis the time of year I enjoy the most. Not too cold (yet), never too hot, no pollen crap, bugs not a problem ... crisp and clear refreshing mornings each and every day ... Mmmmm. 8)

September has been unseasonably hot in Winnipeg... but it's got so cold so suddenly that I think we'll be seeing the first snow before Halloween.

Yeah, weather changed pretty suddenly in Vancouver too... but from the end of last week it seems there at least won't be much rain for a little while. Not going to last forever though.

Fall has arrived in the Midwest. Highs rarely go above 75 yet are consistently in the 60s, and it's rained off and on for the last two weeks.

Trade you that weather for the snow and cold here. Snow all next week with highs almost at 32 F and by Friday next week 3 F. I guess gardening is over.

Yeah, it's getting colder here, but here's what happened the other evening as the sun was setting. The trees are just starting to turn color now. My Golden Ash tree will soon be all yellow.

October can be either spectacularly wonderful or become really wet and nasty here in Oregon. Sometimes the rain starts early, sometimes the warm weather hangs around, like this week. We're supposed to be near 70 most of the week. We can kiss that goodbye in a few weeks though.

Sweet Tech! I can't wait! :)

Here's some pics our last year's storm. It lasted a week and was over a foot deep.

Well it's mid 20s (about 75 degrees F) and sunny here in Perth ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perth,_Western_Australia ) - and there are about 8,000 different species of wildflower poking their lovely little heads above the ground.

Keep your cold and snow - summers on the way and I like it. :P

(...though I admit those snow pics are really lovely)

Mine's not bad. Living on the 3rd floor, we get a lot of heat from downstairs neighbors. It's certainly better than our summertime AC costs.
