My computer has a wired connection to a router that normally has no wifi enabled.
No wifi enabled: fast internet (no lag between sites).
With wifi: Firefox has to think for 20 second before connecting to a new address.
Yes: wep key is being used.
Don't buy the Netgear WGR614V9. It sucks.

It's having issues doing DNS lookups; that's why it pauses so long when looking up a new address.
To work around it, just point your PC's DNS-lookup IP addresses to the OpenDNS, instead of the router.
