Netgear WGR614V9 Router hate.

Post by Isaac »

My computer has a wired connection to a router that normally has no wifi enabled.
No wifi enabled: fast internet (no lag between sites).
With wifi: Firefox has to think for 20 second before connecting to a new address.

Yes: wep key is being used.

Don't buy the Netgear WGR614V9. It sucks.

Here's a picture of the POS:

It's having issues doing DNS lookups; that's why it pauses so long when looking up a new address.

To work around it, just point your PC's DNS-lookup IP addresses to the OpenDNS, instead of the router.

Netgear has been disproportionately represented in the hate files since back when Kali was still popular and the Descent 3 Demo was new. It doesn't really surprise me that much that they haven't improved.

Foil made me think that my modem provided by Time Warner could be the issue. Or just Time Warner its self, since they can't even can't bill me correctly.
