Whatever's out there, new and old.

HP is the manufacturer... I know some don't like HP, but I have two dv9000 series now for 2-3 years with no problems. Just getting a bit dated for newer games.

Personally, I'm not fond of the HP dv series. I've had to service two of them and finding drivers for XP is a ★■◆●, and they are the oddest put together laptops I have worked with to date; I had to replace the screen on a dv6915nr. I suggest getting an MSI, ASUS, or something else not HP or Dell.

Not sure how well it'll run the newest stuff; the CPU is a very low clock rate for an i7 (but being an i7, hopefully doesn't matter) and the GPU is ... well, it's got plenty of memory but the 230M sounds like it's toward the cheap end of the series.

Most current stuff it'll still probably run at decent settings though.

If it doesn't handle the latest games well, at least you know that since its an 18\" laptop you can just tie a rope to it and use it as a ships anchor in a time of need...

I would never stalk someone who carries around an 18\" laptop, something that big would be a serious deadly weapon if they start swinging it around.

About the only place I would carry this around would be from room to room in my house. So as long as you stay away from my house and just stalk me on the boards, you will be safe. If on the rare occasion I were to take it with me to a LAN or something, I have a hand truck. I am also shopping for a one ton truck if such an occasion arises.

I suggest an MSI GX630. I found one for a friend of mine and he loves it. Athlon X2, 15.4\" screen, full keyboard, 3GB of RAM, big hard drive, but unfortunately it has vista. It's a solid, light computer (I'd say 5-6 pounds or less) and runs well. Don't get me wrong. That ASUS looks like it would fit the bill, too; I recommend this MSI from experience.
