Recovering Thunderbird email?

Post by Sedwick »

A few months ago malware hosed up my Windows (XP) and I copied all my data and programs to another hard drive, which is now my drive E:. How can I get all my old email back? In what file(s) or folders is it actually stored? I looked in the old Application Data folders but found nothing on Thunderbird like this tutorial mentioned. When I loaded Thunderbird from my E: drive it didn't seem to find anything either. Is there any hope for recovering my old email? Thanks...

Try: E:\\Documents and Settings\\<Windows XP user name>\\Application Data\\Mozilla\\Thunderbird\\Profiles\\<Profile name>

If it isn't in there, then you probably didn't copy it and recovery is extremely unlikely after this much time.

Just make sure you set explorer to show hidden files and folders.
