When I was researching my last RAM purchase (about six months ago at this point), the word on Geil was that it was hit or miss. People either loved it (due to the price) or hated it (due to DOA sticks). I went with Corsair.

Well I hope mine isn't DOA, I couldn't resist the $62 a stick so I ordered 2.
I have an Epox 8RDA3+ I hope it works.

Yup Geil= Bad in my book. My friend built a system with it and t wouldn't POST. Replacing the RAM with a different brand met success.

My brother got some and his works great. He has not had a single problem with it. I have the kingston hyperx and it works fine too.
