Or any other infidels:

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN) -- The death toll from weekend violence in central Nigeria climbed to more than 200 Monday after members of a machete-wielding Muslim group attacked a mostly Christian town south of the city of Jos, officials said.

John Onaiyekan, archbishop of Abuja wrote:The point that needs to be made is that people are not killing one another because of religion," Onaiyekan said. Instead, he called it a "classical" economic conflict between farmers and less sedentary groups.
Am I the only one who is really bothered by that language?

When someone breaks into my home to kill my family and steal my land, and someone sees fit to describe it as a conflict between myself and the attacker over resources, isn't that just a little bit fucked up?

I would love it if that article would come right out and say it if "Christians" are involved in killing over there (I specifically looked for it). Notice it never really does. And that bit about deaths in Christian/Muslim rioting is too vague for my liking.

Well, in a global situation it's dumbed down a little. Just like Hitler won't be seen as an evil bastard in another 100 years, he'll just be known as another conqueror.
