This should be an easy question: How hard is it to change the url for the links at the top of the page?
It would take no time to make a custom google search bar. The search button could link to a single page with the bar, or we could get rid of the button and actually place the bar in the site's head. THE REASON I GIVE THIS SOLUTION is that it's five minutes worth of work that a noob like me could competently achieve. Also we don't even have a faq page, which is kind of funny. Perhaps the site's ftp server need a new account for someone to make improvements to the code. Doing that might be a better move in the long run.

I ran a search on "zeitgeist" and nothing came back.
Floyd had to go and dig it up for me.

phpBB v2.x has horrible broken search that only ever works on tiny forums with hardly any posts, it can't be quick fixed so google is the best option for now.
Just as the DBB eventually got off UBB (which had equally horrible search) I am confident we will eventually update to phpBB 3.x which features SQL native search that doesn't break. The upgrade process isn't that difficult, the biggest hold up would be porting/updating the default theme to match the forum functionality. However we have absolutely no idea when this update will occur so don't ask.

hmm. Well here's a thrown together search term for this forum:
(add whatever you want to search for at the end)
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:des ... :viewtopic
Seems to work
I guess we could make these for all forums. Someone else do it i'm drunk.
