This thread is stupid. I'm getting really sick of all these ridiculous "manly rants" all over the web these days. I wear skinny jeans and use hair wax, never mind the messenger bag, oh my god I must be one of those metrosexual fag-wimps who's RUINING THE WORLD! Put a sock in it. There's nothing un-"manly" about taking care of your appearance. Hostility towards this sort of thing is usually the result of lazy guys who feel threatened by dudes who actually take care of themselves.

I gotta say, I used to go to a barber who would include a classic soap & straight blade shave with the cut. It was nice.

I use one of them mach3 thingies, though... I don't trust myself to have steady enough of a hand to do the straight blade.

I use Both, usually Gillette Mach 3, but sometimes when I'm in a hurry I use the electric. dont really care for it, tears up my face pretty harsh. it almost like shaving with 36grit sand paper

When I was in boot camp we didn't have a lot of time to shave so i got used to cold water and no shaving cream. While I now use shaving cream, the 3 blade razor lasts me a good 6 months or more before i change it.

If effeminate men are what is killing America - for all effeminate reasons given, then women must be even worse.

I'm concentrating on the reasons given. The reasons given for America's downfall was effeminacy.
Or can someone please explain to me why effeminacy displayed in women is not killing America.

Women have nothing to do with this subject, roid. Women are just as important as we are, but as you probably haven't noticed, they're different, and have their own qualities which make them good women, a lot of which are the same as men, but many of these qualities are different.

Men should be men and women should be women. You do a great job of spin doctoring.

I think we should expand that to be "People should be themselves".

Individuals are different, and trying to fit into some pre pigeon-holed stereotype is a good way to end up NOT filling the role that God intended you to.

A woman can be all woman and still drive a bulldozer for a living, if that is what she is good at and enjoys. And it doesn't make a man any less a man if he stays home and takes care of the children while his wife works at a wage earning job, if child rearing happens to be one of his talents.

Different folks have different gifts, and there are many different ways to "be a good man" or "be a good woman". The emphasis should be on the "good" part.

But then you're missing what is being said there. While what you said in the rest of the post i axed, is largely true, it dilutes (and rebukes) the finer point that FJ is making in being specific.

Men are the firm hand, women are the soft hand. Both of these things are very very important and have their own jobs. I'm not a misogynist. I love women. I love the strength they have that we as men never would have in childbirth. I love the raw emotion which drives them in life. I love how they can stand up for themselves after a global history of oppression. I love the tenderness they show where I would only be able to answer with a fist, and how the scorned ones aren't to be trifled with. I love their ability to step in and command when it's necessary and willingness to follow when it isn't.

But, I'm sure there'll be some spin on what I just typed to make me look like I still hate them...
